Happy Earth Day! Like Surrealists Man Ray, Dalí and Duchamp before her, [all of whom dabbled in jewelry design] New York based artist Megan Marrin adorns and delights with her M.Graves collection. Inspired by and made from a collection of nineteenth century Bisque porcelain doll heads that were excavated from the ruins of bombed-out doll factories in Thuringia, Germany each piece is unique as well as beautiful and because they are made entirely of found and thrifted objects they're enviromentally friendly too! Megan on eco chic: "I use vintage because I don't want to create anything new, anything extra. There is so much excess in goods that we buy, especially luxury goods. The only things that I buy new are some of the semi-precious beads, which I get from this cool place in Arkansas. All my packaging is recycled, reclaimed, or reused as well. That is very important to me"
So important that even her recent Petra Project was composed primarily of black & white paintings emphasized by old photographs.

London Calling!

Creative Director Lily reports nothing but smashing success stories from last week's Marylebone trunk show. Hostess Emilie Bruner charmingly served up propper English scones to her stylish guests, among them Rebecca guinness, Daisy de Villeneuve, Lady Frances von Hofmannsthal, Alice Vzm, Jessica Wyndham, Sophie Dolan, Alexia Hentsch, Kristina McLean, Clare Simms, Alistair Frost, Darren Flook and Christabel Stewart to whom Lily's husband Tom served champagne. While everyone else shopped and sipped, literary genius Tommy Diamond set the tunes to which Lydia Gifford modeled the Fall 2009 SARTEL collection.

So, we just got some terriffic trousers/splendid slacks/perfect pants in! They are essentially the same as these:

[only minus the black piping.] So far we have black and lavender, both in our signature cotton taffeta- and you should see the buttons on the lavender, they're adorable! Hurry in!! The fit is fantastic!
